(there’s an intresting comment on youtube about the lyrics:
The last lines are,”I could take the road and I could fuck it all away, in this twilight our choices seal our fate”. For me the snake crawling on it’s belly is a reference, to the snake in the garden of eden, temptation, which is condemned to crawl on it’s belly for eternity - my interpretation of the song is that he, they, we all have constantly got choices to make in our lives about whether we’ll fuck it all away or choose grace? But it may mean something different to you. )
